Carlotta Maruca

Carlotta Maruca received her BA in Studio Arts from Bard College. She is based in Massachusetts, currently at Hatch Street Studios in New Bedford. Her work focuses on emphasizing the beauty,

meaning, and potential that is present in found objects or places but may have been overlooked,

disguised by circumstance, or hidden from view.

For the past five years, Carlotta has also been leading the Summer Art Camp on Chebeague Island, Maine, serving children ages 4 – 12. Here, in addition to introducing a wide range of types of art, she encourages students to look again at things they may see every day, and spot opportunity in the ordinary, the broken, or the discarded.
